Combinations for Farrowing Crates
Shown farrowing crates are just a selection out of the wide variety of possible combinations. Depending on the project, if existing barn or a new building and/ or management of the farm, requirements regarding the design of farrowing crates can change fundamentally. 1. conventional crates / conventional crate/ parallel to aisle, straight slatted floor
economical, efficient; clear and animal friendly
2. freedom crate / straight slatted floor
A central positioning of FERROCAST® – cast iron slats for a structured design of the crate with a sow friendly cool mothering place with max.foothold
3. freedom crate / fully slatted floor
Fully slatted floorings allow a precise location of “warm” PP floors for piglets and “cool” cast slats for sows.
This is essential in order to achieve working functional area in a farrowing crate.
4. freedom crate / partly solid
Schonlau offers unique animal-friendly self-supporting FERROCAST® cast iron slats PRIMUS and FAVORIT (pp. 17/18) for partly solid crates. Self-supporting slats bear on front sides, installation is easy and endless possible.
Installationshinweise
- Kunststoffroste weisen eine Verlegerichtung auf,- die stirnseitigen Auswurfsicherungen müssen grundsätzlich „Richtung Trog“ zeigen, bzw. diese Stirnseite ist „vorne“ zu installieren, um die Ausrichtung von Guss-, Kotschlitz- und Langschlitzrosten sicher zu stellen.
- Ab einer Verlegebreite von ca. 8 – 10 m wird eine Dehnungsfuge empfohlen.
- Kunststoff- / Betonkombination: Kunststoffroste sind min. 15 mm tiefer als anliegende Betonroste zu verlegen.
- Freitragende Roste liegen stirnseitig auf, nach Möglichkeit sollten nur modellgleiche Roste miteinander verlegt werden.
